Alliance Defending Freedom is looking for a highly skilled Senior Drupal Developer to work from a remote home office. As Senior Drupal Developer, you will report directly to the VP of Web Development. In this role, you will collaborate with and lead a small team of developers and guide the team through all phases of the SDLC while adhering to modern best practices and industry standards in an Agile workflow environment.  The team will be responsible for building and/or maintaining a variety of websites across multiple web platforms (E.g., Drupal, WordPress, etc.) with the emphasis on the Drupal 9+ flagship website.  The team will also be responsible for building and maintaining custom applications and system integrations that are critical to the web presence and operations of ADF.  We are looking for a lead developer with the technical acumen to complete these projects independently, while coaching and mentoring junior web designers and developers.

Your Essential Responsibilities:

In this position, you will:

  • Be responsible for the full SDLC of ADFlegal.org.
  • Build, maintain, install, and configure custom Drupal modules.
  • Evaluate, install, configure, and patch public Drupal modules.
  • Design, build, and maintain Drupal themes (templates, views, blocks, etc.).
  • Be the SME for all things Drupal.
  • Support a cross-functional team of designers, developers, and business stakeholders.
  • Make strategic decisions related to (Drupal and custom) system architecture and design.
  • Continuously work to improve the -ilities (E.g., scalability, maintainability, extensibility, availability, etc.) for all systems and processes for which you have responsibility or influence.
  • Provide technical feasibility assessments to project managers and other stakeholders.
  • Explain and defend technical approaches and decisions to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Assist in backlog grooming and the creation of technology roadmaps.
  • Create and contribute to documentation (instructional, technical specifications, etc.).
  • Provide various reports to technology leadership and business stakeholders.
  • Lead others in the transformation/adoption of Agile and Scrum.
  • Participate in all Scrum ceremonies.
  • Update project tasks promptly and diligently.
  • Be self-motivated and motivate others.
  • Lead and participate in code reviews.
  • Write clean, well-organized, and forward-thinking code.
  • Provide leadership and mentoring to junior developers.
  • Have emergency on-call responsibilities.
  • Adhere to all security policies and best practices.
  • Follow prescribed deployment and project management processes.
  • Setup and maintaining a local development environment independently.

  • Working knowledge of all or most of ADF’s software stack.
