Overview

Convention of States Action is looking to add a Product Manager to our Technology Department!

Position Overview
This full-time, remote role is responsible for analysis of business needs leading
to detailed technical specifications, working with the Solutions Architect, and
interacting with internal and external software developers.  Reports to Chief
Technology Officer (CTO) in the Technology Department.  This position is
exempt and does not qualify for overtime pay according to the Fair Labor
Standards Act guidelines.  Duties may include tasks associated with Citizens
for Self-Governance dba Convention of States Foundation.

Responsibilities

  • Administers Jira backlog of software development issues
  • Coordinates with Technology Department on planning and prioritization
  • Develops metrics to optimize development projects and monitors
    developers for time reporting, performance, and billing reconciliation
  • Liaises with the organization at large on business requirements
  • Assists solutions architect to research, validate, document, and write
    development specifications for bug fixes and system enhancement
    requests
  • Works with CTO, solutions architect, and developers to develop
    roadmaps and strategies for significant new development projects

Assists Technology Department to:

  • Develop, update and review end-user and technical documentation of new and existing features
  • Support the Help Desk
  • Develop and provide training materials to national staff and
    grassroots volunteers
  • Help facilitate grassroots pre-release testing
  • Administer access controls to data
  • Coordinate, oversee, and improve Quality Assurance (QA), fostering
    greater grassroots participation
  • Assume primary ownership of eSign application
  • Assists data analyst(s) with special projects
  • Other duties, as assigned
Requirements

 Significant Experience in:

  • Product and/or project management
  • Software design, development, and processes
  • Business analysis and requirements gathering
  • Jira or other work management software

Education and Skills

  • Business analysis
  • Requirements gathering and spec writing
  • Project management
  • Excellent document writing, presentation, and communications skills
  •  Highly loyal and trustworthy with sensitive information
