ROLE: Legal Outreach Coordinator

  • SALARY RANGE: $1,150-1,635/week ($59,800-70,200/year annual equivalent) DOE
  • OTHER: Travel and flexible hours as required


  • FPC is looking for a legal outreach coordinator to help us fight for liberty by, among other responsibilities, searching for, making lists of, vetting, and coordinating potential plaintiffs for pro-liberty lawsuits
  • This role requires marketing, networking, activism, communication, organization, and travel

  • The role’s primary responsibility will be finding and vetting quality potential plaintiffs for litigation
  • Successful candidates will be comfortable conducting active searches for individuals who meet precise and particular factual circumstances, in precise and particular targeted jurisdictions
  • You should have a network of industry, personal, and organizational contacts that can be used to meet objectives
  • You will be efficiently but thoroughly vetting individuals to ensure their eligibility, while maintaining exceeding clear and transparent records of progress across multiple concurrent matters

  • Must be 18 years old or older
  • Must be able to read, write, analyze and speak fluent English
  • Must have the ability to legally acquire and possess firearms, including handguns, and must be comfortable and safe around firearms and shooting ranges
  • Must be an excellent and proactive communicator using verbal and written communication modes
  • Must be able to use computers and standard business software/platforms (Microsoft, Google, etc.)
  • Must be able to strategize, create, and execute highly-effective strategic marketing and social media
  • Must have at least 3 years of continuous successful experience in a relevant role (outside or inside sales, marketing, outbound customer service, project management, etc.) that required juggling multiple concurrent tasks while delivering on metrics and maintaining exacting standards of recordkeeping
  • Must be able to explain complex legal and policy issues in simple language
  • Must be incredibly organized and self-directed
  • Must be able to speak with a large volume of people effectively and politely on the phone
  • Must be able to travel and do whatever it takes to meet objectives and deadlines
  • Must enjoy working and communicating with people

  • Generally comfortable with Google documents and sheets. Experience with Clio and Trello software a plus.
  • Past experience in writing for a newspaper or magazine
  • Past experience in national-scale political fundraising and marketing to hundreds of thousands to millions of people on a regular basis
  • Past experience in copywriting, digital/email marketing, and execution
  • Past experience with computers, CRMs, email, and online fundraising tools
  • A strong sense of humor
  • A degree in journalism, communications, or marketing
  • Experience building marketing funnels and nurturing relationships in email and digital platforms
  • Experience writing about legislation or legal policy
  • Experience with remote work with a widely distributed team and co-workers in multiple time zones
  • Experience with Slack and/or similar team communication tools


  • Conceptualize, create, and execute highly effective campaigns in support of legal programs
  • Oversee and conduct potential plaintiff/client searches, intakes, vetting, and coordination
  • Provide feedback and reporting to the head of legal operations, other team members, and executives
  • Coordinate with other FPC teams regarding programs and marketing
  • Communicate and coordinate with FPC leadership as well as in-house and outside counsel in a professional, courteous, and highly precise manner
  • Maintain work process and status transparency
  • Provide project oversight and administrative support
  • Create and maintain detailed and accurate databases and files for all legal program activities and work in progress
  • Track key dates and deadlines, elevating urgent issues as needed to stay ahead of the game
  • Participate in meetings and take meeting minutes
  • Identify possible litigation and advocacy opportunities from inbound (emails, lists, social media, etc.) and networking sources
  • Investigate complaints about rights violations that come through our Hotline(s) and intake programs
  • Prepare a wide variety of reports, memos and other documents while maintaining confidentiality
  • Coordinate with other FPC teams regarding programs and marketing
  • Keep all work and data organized
  • Provide regular status updates on a proactive basis
  • Identify issues and propose solutions to keep things on track
  • Develop strategies and plans to meet objectives
  • Report on progress and results
  • Provide feedback and suggestions
  • Participate in strategic planning
  • Perform other duties as assigned
